You do not have to spend a fortune to have a great honeymoon experience. The travel industry would prefer that you spend on a luxury honeymoon suite, but that really is not a good idea if you are going to spend the whole time worrying about what you could have done with all that money that you are spending on your first vacation as a married couple.

There are lots of ways you can still have a great honeymoon, but a little cheaper, or a lot cheaper if you prefer. Think about what you want your honeymoon to be. For most couples this would be about spending time with the person you just married, and relaxing. To do this, you could go on a road trip together, if you enjoy long drives.

You can take the scenic routes away from the hustle and bustle of motorways, highways and freeways, and stop wherever you like, or you could book in advance at some of the quiet bed and breakfast places en route.

You could go on a camping honeymoon, setting up your tent in remote beautiful areas of this earth. But only do this if you are comfortable camping, and don’t mind sharing your tent with a few bugs. Or you could rent a rustic cabin for a week or two, so that you still get some basic comforts like a roof over your heads, but you can still enjoy the wilderness. There are plenty of options for a honeymoon vacation that are reasonably priced, and offer activities that you two want to do. You don’t have to do the same as everyone else and go to the sun and beach honeymoon resorts.

The all inclusive cruises may be a way of having meals catered for you, without you having to spend too much. The cost of cruises have come down significantly in recent times, and if you decide ahead of time not to drink expensive wine with every meal, then a cruise can work out to be quite a cheap honeymoon deal. There will be plenty for you to do on board the ship.

Another way of getting cheap honeymoon deals is to go during the quiet season, but remember that it may be quiet because of the weather conditions at that time of year. Check into what kind of weather you can expect to make sure it is something that you can handle.
